Ameerpet University
Anyone involved with technology, engineering, computers, or SAP knows that Ameerpet, in Hyderabad, is the mecca of learning as far as technology goes. In these narrow bylanes, a large part of India's exported techies are born.
It has everything from pirated books, to CDs, to process documentation, to even experience certificates with IBM, Accenture, and you-name-it.
In a sense, it is India's biggest and worst-kept technology secret. In another sense, it is hope: for India's citizens who want jobs in America on technology but cannot afford the fancy degrees, experience or certificates. It gives learning, and paints them in whichever lens the company wants them in. And it gives jobs, real-experience, and makes thousands of people into SAP literate, oracle literate, or IBM-literate employees.
Maybe that's why it is fondly known as Ameerpet University.
